Gapura Angkasa Returns to Serving Commercial Aircraft at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport

Halim Perdanakusuma Airport will operate again on September 1, 2022, after being closed since January 26, 2022. Revitalization is carried out to repair the runway and taxiway, this is done in order to improve aspects of flight safety, security and comfort.



Director of Operations & Engineering of PT Gapura Angkasa, Capt Andreas Eko Novianto said that Gapura Angkasa welcomed the re-operation of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport after being closed for revitalization at the end of January 2022. Gapura is always ready to commit to providing excellent service.

In an interview with the General Manager of Halim Perdanakusuma PT Gapura Angkasa, Mr. Suparno said that there is great hope with the opening of Halim Airport, Gapura can increase the number of customers because the market segment will be wider. Halim Airport is able to accommodate not only Narow body aircraft types but Wide body aircraft, so the next step prepared by Gapura Angkasa is to increase the capacity of HR (Human Resources) with good certification and qualifications as well as prepare SDA (Source Tools/GSE) which can handle all types of aircraft.

On the same occasion the Halim Perdanakusuma Operations Manager of PT Gapura Angkasa, Mr. Anggie Budi Pratama said that there were several commercial aircraft handled by Gapura Angkasa such as Citilink Indonesia, Travira Air, Trigana Air, Asia Cargo Airline, several VIP/VVIP aircraft such as Presidential aircraft and other. In order to improve services both preflight to postflight, the operational team conducts preflight briefings before operational activities and evaluates performance and responds well to feedback submitted by customers.



The opening of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport was attended by the Ministry of Transportation, the Board of Directors of PT Citilink Indonesia and the Board of Directors of PT Angkasa Pura II. As a form of appreciation, giving souvenirs to passengers using Citilink airline with flight number QG192 and taking off at 08:50 WIB with the destination Denpasar (DPS), becoming the first flight to operate again at Halim airport. Tribute was made to Citilink airlines with a ceremonial Water Salute. At the release of the inaugural flight, the staff and ground handling team waved to the passengers and crew until they entered the runway to take off.
