Operational Transfer of Husein Sastranegara International Airport to West Java International Airport, Kertajati

Kertajati International Airport, which is in Majalengka Regency, West Java, is the second largest airport in Indonesia. Reported from various sources, this airport has a land area of 1.800 hectares (ha) which has a single runway 3.000 meters long and can accommodate up to 43 million passengers per year. The Ministry of Transportation revealed that every day there are 16 flights with a seating capacity of 32.760 pax per week or 4.680 pax per day from Kertajati airport.


Sunday Oct 29, 2023 will be the momentum for a full operational shift from Husein Sastranegara International Airport, Bandung to West Java Kertajati International Airport, Majalengka. This ceremony began with a Water Salute reception upon the arrival of the AirAsia aircraft (Airbus A320). This event was attended by the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Budi Karya Sumadi, the Acting Governor of West Java, Mr. Bey Machmudin, the Main Director of Angkasa Pura II, Mr. Muhammad Awaluddin. The series of events entitled Flying Celebration (More) Fun From Kertajati was also enlivened by artists and musicians from the capital, including Kiki Saputri, Gilang Dirga and Armand Maulana.


The Director of Operations, Engineering & Services of PT Gapura Angkasa said that, it is an honor for us to be able to serve the operational transition to Kertajati Airport, from the Operational side Gapura Angkasa is here to provide the best, all GSE equipment was moved from Husein Sastranegara International Airport to Kertajati Airport on time, It is hoped that occupancy will increase during the peak season, namely the Christmas holidays and year-end holidays.
